There is no formal EdLUG Membership as such there are only Subscribers to the EdLUG Mailing list. Anyone can join, no one is refused and their subscription is not revoked so long as they are polite and follow the rules in the Etiquette section.
This is more complex. To enable EdLUG(Outreach) to have a formal Constitution it needs to have a formal membership. This is important because we need to be able to identify the members. Membership gives access to and control of the EdLUG(Outreach) resources, use of the bank account and control of the EdLUG name and hence holds more responsibility. It also shows initial commitment on the part of the subscriber in the area of Promotion of Linux and Free Software in Edinburgh.
